One Stop Shopping Initiative (OSSI) Overview The over-arching mission of the One Stop Shopping Initiative (OSSI) for NASA Internship, Fellowship and Scholarship Opportunities is to advance the United States’ policy initiatives for STEM Education and workforce development. The initiative is an innovative, mission-enabling, NASA-wide approach to communicating and providing students at all Institutions of Higher Education (IHE) access to a portfolio of internship, fellowship, and scholarship opportunities offered by NASA Mission Directorates and Centers. The OSSI enables eligible students to access opportunities through a single portal (intern.nasa.gov) and single application (SOLAR). OSSI also enables NASA to continually reengage students throughout their academic careers. NASA Education OSSI LaunchPad The OSSI LaunchPad is an Agency-wide strategic communication tool designed to reach Education stakeholders, including students, faculty, mentors, project managers, and industry partners. The LaunchPad provides internship and fellowship awareness and “user friendly” access to special features such as the Student Online Application for Recruiting (SOLAR) Interns, Fellows, and Scholars, NASA Student Ambassador Virtual Community, Student On-line Research Journal, Special Event Announcements, Feature Stories and Videos and much more. You are invited to visit the dynamic options listed below. Please let us know if you cannot find what you are seeking on the LaunchPad! Expected Outcomes:
The OSSI Guiding Principles Mission Enabling: One application, one point of entry to increase branding and access to all Agency-wide internship/fellowship opportunities for students pursuing degrees in STEM fields that meet NASA’s critical competency needs. Application Integration: Promote collaboration, standardization, and integration of information related to OSSI pillars: (1) student recruitment, retention and development; (2) interns/fellows placement and mentoring; (3) workforce entry; and (4) longitudinal studies (see OSSI Strategic Model). Secured Solutions: Implement, sustain, coordinate and secure information technology processes to protect privacy information from unauthorized disclosure in compliance with requirements outlined in the Paperwork Reduction Act (44 USC 3501-3520), Privacy Act of 1974 and amendments, and other federal law regulations, and guidance pertaining thereto. Expert Advocacy: Culturally competent Broker-Facilitator Corps networking for selected types of institutions to enhance the recruitment and retention of highly qualified STEM students for the NASA workforce pipeline; and career path liaisons engaging, inspiring, and guiding STEM students toward career-self understanding. I love the research that I get to do with NASA. But one thing that's even cooler than research I get to do is the NASA Student Ambassador Program. Through this program I have gotten to meet other students like myself doing research in NASA. I have got to participate in really cool programs going to elementary schools and teaching young kids about the benefits of Science Technology and Math. Gotten to show them how a space suit works. Gotten to go see shuttles launch and other great opportunities. So please strongly consider joining the NASA Student Ambassador Program. Tommi B. Greenly
Hi my name is Tommy Barret Greenly and I am a NASA Student Ambassador. STEM touches our lives every day, and in a world of constant change in technology, it is It is important for us to know how to understand science, technology, engineering and math. So join our NASA family, and explore the endless possibilities of how STEM impacts your life. Brian Greenly
My name is Brian Greenly and I am a NASA Student Ambassador. I am here to encourage you to pursue STEM as your education. STEM is Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. Without STEM, the technology we have today will go nowhere tomorrow.

The One Stop Shopping Initiative, or OSSI, is a movement to expand and strengthen NASA Workforce by providing competency-based research activities for our interns, undergraduate students, and fellows, graduate students and seeks to employ more people in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. ![]()
The NASA Student Ambassador Virtual Community, or NSAVC, is a place where NASA Student Ambassadors can come together to stay in-touch with other Ambassadors, interns, and NASA Staff. Student Ambassadors are interns or fellows who excelled in their program and were nominated by their mentors to continue their relationship with NASA; they conduct outreach and experiential research and, all-in-all, have a great time!
