Balloon Research and Development Lab Intern

Wallops Flight Facility (WFF) - Internship
This internship will cover a broad array of tasks. Specific assignments will be tailored to the student's academic level and concentration. Tasks may include: - data entry - analyzing complex data sets - report writing and literature review - people skills (speaking with equipment vendors, tour groups, etc) - use of power tools for basic construction of wooden structures - lifting up to 50lb - preparing testing samples (high degree of precision) - programming complex test controls using Labview - conducting testing with minimal supervision (able to work independently and use of critical thinking skills)

Expected outcome: Intern will present a power point presentation of work completed during the internship program.
Student's special skills: Specify level of proficiency with the following (provide examples): -MS Office (emphasis on Excel using complex formulas, analyzing and displaying data) -programming with Labview (data acquisition and logging) -use of power tools and basic construction -basic laboratory equipment and procedures (ex. understanding sample size requirements and/or operation of Instron machine)
