NASA Education Fellowship Opportunity

The NASA Education Aeronautics Scholarship and Advanced STEM Training and Research (AS&ASTAR) Fellowship activity provides fellowship and graduate scholarship awards for individuals pursuing or planning to pursue graduate studies leading to master's and doctoral degrees in relevant NASA-related disciplines at accredited U.S. universities. This funding opportunity is open to students pursuing advanced degrees in STEM, specifically in areas of projected deficiencies in the NASA STEM workforce. The NASA Education fellowship activity is being conducted by the NASA Internships, Fellowships & Scholarships (NIFS) line of business and in conjunction with the STEM Education and Accountability Projects (SEAP), Minority University Research and Education Project (MUREP), Aeronautics Research Mission Directorate (ARMD), the Human Exploration and Operations Mission Directorate (HEOMD), Science Mission Directorate (SMD) and other NASA funding sources. The fellowship candidates will submit independently conceived research proposals that are responsive to a research opportunity posted in the fellowship solicitation. The AS&ASTAR solicitation is opening for research proposal package submission in early November on NSPIRES. The opportunity will remain open until early February 2017.
